Each Mainstream lesson lasts 30 minutes. Each Club lesson lasts 45 minutes. These times include changeover and the taking of the register prior to the class. This process may take up to 5 minutes so actual teaching time may be reduced for a period of up to 5 minutes per lesson.
We try to ensure that continuity of teachers is maintained. We reserve the right to replace a member of staff with no prior notice if a member of staff is absent for any reason. We reserve the right to cancel classes for any reason. As much notice will be given in this event and a lesson will be added to the end of your current allocation.
For extended closures, we may refund fees and ask you to sign up for a new block of lessons. If you wish, you may use the lesson credit on your account to pay towards a new block of lessons.
However, we are able to refund blocks that have not yet commenced. For example, if you have two lessons remaining and top up, then request a refund, we are able to refund 8 lessons.
Please note that If you choose to cancel your lessons, we do not offer a refund.
Absence from lessons
If a pupil is absent from a lesson for any reason, a catch-up lesson may be requested. This must be requested AFTER the missed lesson and no more than 24 hours before the catch-up lessons. Lichfield Dolphins reserves the right to remove the catch-up facility with no notice.
Progression
Should all lesson criteria be marked as "passed" on 'Home Portal', there is no guarantee that the pupil may progress to a more advanced class. By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, the customer understands that a pupil may only be moved either when there is space, or under the discretion of the Swim School Coordinator.
Assessments
Customers should not expect assessments to be made weekly. The teacher will carry out class grading whenever possible. 'HomePortal' does not guarantee feedback on every session. Due to the nature of the system, the customer understands that data from the most recent lesson may not appear until the following day.
Refunds
Refunds must be applied for before your block of swimming lessons begin. Once your block of swimming lessons begins you will deemed to have started the service with us. If a refund is deemed to be applicable, any spent lessons will be deducted from the refunded amount. Refunds may be give via the original payment method or BACS transfer.

'Home Portal' is a service that is provided to Lichfield Dolphins customers free of charge and aims to enhance the customer / teacher experience through improved communication.
Whilst every effort is made to make sure that the Course information is correct and up to date, Lichfield Dolphins cannot guarantee that relevant information will appear for customers at all times.
Personal data
Lichfield Dolphins keeps personal data pertaining to the pupil and contact data pertaining to the customer. This data is held on a secure website and is only used in connection with the service supplied by Lichfield Dolphins.
Data retention
Pupil and customer data will be retained for a period of up to 4 years after the pupil has left Lichfield Dolphins. This allows the pupil to return and their history to be intact. If you wish for your details to be removed from the system before the 4 years has elapsed, please contact Lichfield Dolphins and the data will be removed within 7 days of the request.
Service Communication
We reserve the right to contact you by email, text and telephone whilst you are a member of Lichfield Dolphins. These communications fall outside of the bounds of the GPDR regulations as they are deemed as ‘Service’ messages that we must send you in connection with the service that we provide to you.
Bad behaviour and safety
We do not tolerate bad behaviour towards any of our staff members or other swimmers. We reserve the right to discipline or remove a pupil from a lesson if they are deemed to be disruptive or are behaving in a dangerous manner. Refunds for removal will not be given.
Whilst on poolside, swimmers are our responsibility and as such we have to keep swimmers and staff safe at all times.
Changes to terms and conditions
These Terms & Conditions may be changed at any time, under the discretion of Lichfield Dolphins.
