We know how important the life skill of swimming is. It's the reassurance for you as a parent to know that should the worst happen and your child comes across water unexpectedly your child will stand a better chance if they can swim, even at a basic level.
Lichfield Dolphins is offering you the chance to take part in our intense swim program in holiday times.
We may offer our intense lessons at the following times, subject to pool availability:
February half-term - usually from 08:30 - 10:00
Summer holidays - usually the first full two weeks of the summer holiday from 08:30 - 10:00
October half-term - usually from 08:30 - 10:00
Lessons last for thirty minutes and are for five days a week. The lessons are really designed for the following general levels of swimming experience:
CRAB - total beginners, no experience at all
JELLYFISH - confident beginners in armbands and using other floatation aids
STARFISH - may still be in armbands or just starting to swim independently with a good kick technique
SHRIMP - learning to swim with arms over the water and out of their depth
SQUID - more advanced techniques
The intense lessons are great to take in readiness for holidays around the pool or near the sea. Of course, some children may wish to carry on with lessons and take swimming up as their sport later on in life. Why not talk to us about the opportunities to swim competitively in the local area.
How many will there be in a class?
In standard lessons we will be running classes of 6 children to ensure fast progression.
Where are the lessons held?
Lessons are held at our base at Nether Stowe High School in Lichfield.
The small print
Lessons must be paid for on booking. We no longer take unpaid reservations, sorry. Read about our payment methods
Payments are non-refundable unless Lichfield Dolphins cannot operate due to pool closure. Lichfield Dolphins will not issue refunds in case of illness or failure to turn up to lessons for any other reason
Catch-up lessons will not be available if any intense lessons are missed and catch-up lessons cannot be used to take intense lessons
Non-swimmers are not allowed to be on poolside under any circumstances. This is normal Lichfield Dolphins practice and is a rule laid down in our operating agreement with Nether Stowe High School. There is a viewing area where non-swimmers may view the pool. Swimmers and Lichfield Dolphins team members are the only personnel insured to be on poolside
We reserve the right to switch children between classes if we think they are in the wrong class on the day. This may mean that there may be more than 6 children in a class
Intense lessons are not always run due to the pool maintenance schedule.
